Ok so small spoiler alert for those who have only watched the anime and didn't read the manga. Proceed at your own risk.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

It was one of those days. It was cold, rainy and everything went wrong. You just wanted to get home and end the day with a nice relaxing bath. On your way home a passing car splashed the water of one of the many puddles next to the sidewalk on your pants.
- Great. Just perfect. You hissed annoyed.
Arriving in front of the building your apartment was, you got out your keys to open the door but the wind yanked the umbrella out of your hand as you weren't holding to it that tight while searching for the keys in your backpack. When you turned around to pick it up you saw someone sitting in the bus station that was just across the street.
- I'd better tell him the bus isn't coming anymore at this hour. You said to yourself
It was fairly late, way past the hour when the bus would still pass by. You crossed the street and you shared your umbrella with him.
 - I am sorry to bother you but the last bus was an hour and a half ago.
He said nothing. He was sitting on the bench with his arms on his legs and facing the wet, gray ground.
 - Uhm...for how long have you been waiting? You asked hesitant as you saw him being drenched.
Still no answer. You didn't know what to do. A sigh escaped your chest. Today was not a good day for you and dealing with stubborn people at a time like this was not your favorite thing on the list. You turned around and wanted to cross the street back to your place but a small shade of guilt took over you. A bit irritated you turned back to the long haired man and spoke:
- Look I can't just leave you here. You are all drenched and this is not your friendly summer rain. It's all ready close to the end of October and it's cold. You will get sick.
The person you were talking to didn't seem to care much so you grabbed him by his arm and gently pulled him up but he wouldn't move.
- I was ordered to wait here. He finally spoke on a low tone.
- Who in his right mind would order you to wait in rain...without an umbrella...in this cold? You became irritated.
- It was careless of me not to bring an umbrella. It is my fault. He continued almost whispering on the same low tone this time a bit rough.
That was the last drop. You got angry and this time with a frown you pulled him up with all your strength.
- I live right across the street. Now move! You yelled at him on an ordering voice.
It was not the usual way you would persuade people but after a long and hard day you snapped and lost all you patience.
Surprisingly he got up and followed you lifelessly without opposing. You two got inside your warm apartment and on the same ordering tone you told him to take off his soaked wet clothes.
- Wait here, I will go get a towel and some dry clothes until you undress.
You took off your jacket and you went looking for some dry clothes in your room. By the time you got back he was wearing nothing but his pants. Your face turned 3 shades of red and you threw him the towel.
- Here wipe your hair, water is dripping from it and I don't want my furniture wet.
He was very handsome. His gray-blond hair shining in the warm light of the room, his pale skin and oh those glasses made him look so hot. You tried not to stare but his well defined body just couldn't let you look away. Eventually he broke the silence snapping you out of daydreaming.
- Thank you for your kindness. Same low tone this time softer.
Till then you forgot to change as you were also soaked to the bone. His presence just made you forget how wet and cold were your clothes. You noticed that for some reason this time his voice sounded warmer than outside "Perhaps the effect of pouring rain" you said to yourself.
- Uhm...no problem, you said on a nervous voice, I...will go change. You gave him the T-shirt that you were holding and it was 2 numbers larger than the normal clothes you wore. You liked wearing large clothes at home. It was more comfortable that way. Then you walked to your room to change.
- So...who were you waiting for? You asked while wiping your wet hair.
- My master. He answered bluntly.
The T-shirt you gave him was black and quite a perfect fit. Once again you got lost while gazing at him. "It should be a sin to look that good in anything" a fast thought ran trough your head.
- He ordered me to wait for him until he gets back. He continued on the same tone.
- Ok well I don't know who this "master" of yours is but he clearly fooled you. You shouldn't listen so blindly to people.
- Seimei's orders are absolute.
Then silence fell across the room. You could read his sadness in his beautiful purple eyes. While having this conversation you brewed up some hot chocolate. You put the hot mug on the table and sat down in front of him.
- Here this will warm you up. You pushed the mug towards him.
Silently and obedient he took the mug and sipped its warm content. You noticed the bandage wrapping his neck but didn't want to pry. In the end it was none of your business what happens in his life.
- The bandage hides my master's true name. He answered to your unvoiced question as he saw you looking at it curiously.
After that he began to tell you about what are fighters and sacrifices, about this world that you never knew it existed. He told you how he ended up waiting for Seimei in the bus station. As the time passed he also told you how he became a fighter and how Seimei was his sacrifice thus his orders are absolute. He told you how Seimei abandoned him once and returned for him.
- For how long have you been waiting? You asked curiously.
- About 2 days give or take. His voice was emotionless.
- No water? No food? and how come I never noticed you? This time you were surprised.
- I must endure for Seimei's orders are not to be crossed.
- Wha...How...I...you were angry on this character named Seimei. You closed your eyes and you took in a deep breath to calm down but it wasn't that easy. Well it seems like he abandoned you again, you continued on an angry tone.
For a second you let anger take over you and didn't realize what you said. Words just came out of your mouth when you would get angry, but you felt bad when you saw in his eyes a shade of loneliness.
- I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...but you stopped as nothing you said was going to take back those words you just threw out.
- Am I a toll for them? Why do they keep abandoning me? That's right cause I will never be good enough for them. His voice had no inflexion as he was staring at his distorted reflection in the liquid of his mug, now cold.
- You...but you didn't know what to say so you just put your hand on his and looked in his eyes.
Although he was a stranger to you, the way he talked to you made you feel as if you knew him for ages.
- Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. (name) you stretched your hand with a wide smile.
- Soubi. He gently grabbed it with a gentle smile covering his face.
His skin was warm and soft, his eyes comforting and his aura calming. For some reason you took a liking in this stranger.
You looked at the clock on the wall.
- Oh, it's that late all ready? You were a bit surprised as you didn't even notice the time passing. You were so absorbed in his stories that you lost track of time.
He looked at the clock as well.
- You like butterflies? He asked on his soft tone a bit curious.
- Yes. I like them allot. My room has a big poster with them. You replied enthusiastic.
- Why do you like the?
- Cause they are free and beautiful and fragile also gentle. Every time I have a hard day I like to close my eyes and think that I can fly free just like them wherever I want. Do you not like them?
- I hate them. His voice changed having a small drop of disgust in it.
- Why? Your eyes grew in curiosity.
- Cause they are fragile and they break very easy. As beautiful and free they seem they are worthless and fragile. he replied with repulsion.
Silence fell over the room as you were thinking about what he said. Moments later he broke the silence as he saw you thinking.
- It's late you should rest, you have work tomorrow. He got up and stretched his hand to help you get up.
- I did overtime today enough for a whole year. You said on a cheerful voice while taking his hand. So they are grateful I solved a very important issue and they gave me the day off tomorrow. But I must admit I feel tired.
You made the bed in the guest room and bid good night to Soubi. As you got back to your room you let yourself fall on the bed shortly after falling asleep.
Hours later you heard the door of your room open and you jumped out of the bed " I knew something was fishy with him...I should stop inviting strangers to sleep over" you thought to yourself. Waiting to see his next move you spoke to him on a cautious tone:
- Soubi...what's wrong? Your voice was a bit trembling nervously as you didn't know what to expect from him.
- I can't sleep. He whispered in the darkness.
His dark silhouette was dim lighted by the street lights that invaded your room trough the window. Nonetheless even in dim light he looked as charming as ever. Not to mention he was wearing no glasses.
A fast thought ran trough your mind as you saw his gentle yet sad look on his face in the dim lights " Perhaps he just feels lonely. perhaps he is honest and doesn't have any ill intentions" . You sat down on your bed and asked him to join you. As he sat down closer to you that before a small spark caught your attention so you approached him to see what it was.
- Butterfly earrings? You were a bit surprised.
- They remind me of how worthless I am. He whispered.
- You are not. You gently cupped his cheek with your palm.
He turned to face you and leaned his forehead against yours. Blush took over your cheeks as a result of his action. His smell, his warmth, his skin, made you lose grip on reality for a second.
- For some reason I feel comfortable here with you like this. He whispered. This time a shade of relief could be found in his voice.
- Although we met not long ago I feel relieved and safe by your side. Your whispers trembled slightly in emotion.
He closed his eyes and he leaned forward making you fall on your back on the soft bed. You didn't know how to react. He was laying there on top of you with his head resting on your chest.
- Your heart beats are so soothing and your body so warm. He put his hands around you in an incomplete hug.
You were speechless but you didn't have to say anything as his deep breathing told you he fell asleep.
You kissed his forehead and ran your fingers tough his long hair resting your hand on his head. "You are like a butterfly : gentle and gracious yet easily crushed by others." you whispered and you closed your eyes falling asleep hugging the stranger that turned out to be one of the most beautiful butterflies that you ever met till that day.
